I met Raul Malo of the Mavericks in 2005 with my dear friend Samantha King. We were in Nashville, and we played a little showcase for Raul, then went and ate at Virago on MStreet. I can safely say, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone cooler. His style was cooler than anyone, and his voice was cooler than everyone’s. So proud I had a moment to sing this song to him… 20 years ago…
