NO MIC? NO PROBLEM
Sunday night, Brett stepped onto the ice at Rogers Place to sing the American anthem, just like had done at all the other Edmonton Oilers playoff games over the past few weeks.
Only this time, when he started to perform, it didn’t take long to realize the microphone didn’t work. He didn’t know at the time that the home audience watching at home could hear him perfectly, but the 18,000 fans in the arena couldn’t hear a note. What could have been a disaster though turned into something completely the opposite. Brett asked the crowd for help and the fans sang every note of their neighbour’s anthem.
The clip of the anthem has appeared everywhere – CNN, Fox News, TMZ, NBC, CBC and countless others.
