Brett Kissel Hometown Homecoming Concert a Huge Success
MCSNet ‘Brett Kissel Hometown Homecoming’ a Home-Run…in more ways than one.
They came, they cheered, they sang, and they danced. Over three thousand Brett Kissel fans from across Canada were treated to an epic performance at Saturday’s sold out show inside St. Paul, Alberta’s historic Jaycee Ballpark. With an electric, festival-like atmosphere, beautiful conditions, and a buzz filling the air, Kissel says the whole event surpassed expectations:
‘It’s hard to put into words… I’m blown away by the excitement and atmosphere… it really was surreal and so, so special to be performing for so many fans, family, friends, and people I grew up with who’ve supported me since the beginning, in my hometown; it was an awesome night.’
Memories of the concert – a first of its kind for the community of St. Paul – were not the only impressions left in town. Over sixty-thousand dollars were raised for provincial and local charities and non-profit organizations as a result of the event, including a ten-thousand-dollar cash donation by Kissel and event producers, with five thousand dollars directed towards Fort McMurray fire-relief efforts and five thousand dollars going to local cancer-support society, ‘Haying in the 30’s.’ That donation was matched by business-mogul and philanthropist W. Brett Wilson of ‘Dragon’s Den’ fame, who flew in from Calgary for the special show.
Performances by local talents Olivia Rose Leaf, Cassidy Zahar, and Route 66 led to Canadian country music icon Charlie Major, with Kissel closing the night as only he can with an infectious, high-energy, and highly interactive performance of hits.
The show was broadcast live across Alberta on 840 & 910 CFCW and Country Music Television was present with their crew and cameras to capture the show for later airing.
Kissel was surprised when he was presented on stage with yet another Gold Record for his first single, ‘Started With a Song’.
Asked to sum up the entire Hometown Homecoming experience, Kissel replied,
‘Incredible…that’s the only word for it! We might just have to do this again.’
