Brett Kissel to open for Garth Brooks in Winnipeg

Brett Kissel will once again open for his idol Garth Brooks. Garth has invited Brett to open for him in Winnipeg at the MTS Centre on June 17 and 19. Karyn Rochelle, who has opened for Garth for all of his single show nights, will also open each night.

Brett fulfilled a lifelong dream of opening for Garth in March, when he performed at three shows in Hamilton, ON.

“Getting the opportunity to perform with Garth again is unbelievable. I’m so happy that I’ve been asked to join my hero in Winnipeg – a city that is known for its passionate country music fans,” Brett says.

“Garth is – without question – one of the best entertainers of all time. So Winnipeg better get ready because his show will be unforgettable. The opening act won’t be that bad either…”

2014’s Juno Award winner for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Brett did not fall victim to the sophomore slump with the release of Pick Me Up.  Shortly after Brett debuted on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Apple Music Canada named Pick Me Up the best country album of 2015 and CBC included it on their list of top Canadian albums. The album was nominated for Country Album of the Year at this year’s Juno Awards. After a string of 5 consecutive Top 10 songs from his previous album, Pick Me Up’s first single, “Airwaves,” became Brett’s first number 1 song at country radio, while the music video reached number 1 on CMT’s Top 20 Countdown.

Brett’s latest single is “Cool With That.” Watch the video on YouTube.
