Brett Kissel Announces Cross-Canada ‘Airwaves’ Fall Tour
JUNO-winning country artist Brett Kissel has announced details of a cross-Canada fall tour. “The Airwaves Tour 2015” will begin October 10 in Simcoe, Ontario, before wrapping up in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, on November 28. Additional dates will be added and announced over the summer.
Brett released his new single Airwaves to radio and all digital stores and streaming services late last month. After being the #1 most added song at Canadian radio last week, Airwaveswas the lone new entry on the Canadian country radio charts this week, picking up the biggest spin increase at the format. At #31, it is the highest debut for a Canadian country artist so far in 2015 and matches Kissel’s highest entry with “3-2-1” in February 2014.
The song is also dominating the Canada Viral 50 chart on Spotify. Airwaves has topped the chart – which monitors the most shared tracks on Spotify – for the past week.
Airwaves is the first single from Brett’s upcoming sophomore album, set for release this fall. More details on the album will be announced in the coming weeks.
Brett has a busy summer of festival dates before he embarks on the Airwaves tour. A full list of dates can be found at his recently re-launched web site www.brettkissel.com.
On August 29, Brett will perform on Nashville’s most legendary stage when he appears on “the show that made country music famous,” the Grand Ole Opry.
After the success Kissel had with his major label debut album Started With A Song, it would be tempting for anyone to kick off their boots, crack a cold one or two, and imagine things couldn’t get any better. But coasting on his accomplishments has never been part of Kissel’s makeup. The numbers say it all, however: His JUNO Award for Breakthrough Artist marked the first time in 17 years a country act earned the honour. He had five Billboard Canada Top 10 singles, two #1 videos on CMT’s Top 20 Countdown and a leading eight Canadian Country Music Association Award nominations, of which he won two.
