Brett Kissel to Perform on the 2014 CCMA Awards Show
Following a landmark year in 2013 with CCMA and Juno Award nominations for their debut album, Favourite Mistake, the 2014 CCMA nominated duo, Autumn Hill is set to hit the road this fall with fellow country music artist, Kira Isabella. Nationwide radio play for “Anything At All”, “Can’t Keep Waiting” and “Fire” spawned three chart-topping country hits, and led to the duo making history as the first Canadian country act to cross over to pop radio since Shania Twain. Autumn Hill is featured on the new Jann Arden single, “Karolina”. The duo, and the co-host of the 2014 CCMA Awards, will perform the song on this year’s Show.
It has been 10 years since George Canyon thrilled the national audience with his journey on USA Network’s Nashville Star as the only contestant from Canada. His continued success has produced many accolades and over 300,000 album sales. Canyon will celebrate this milestone with a national tour, commencing this fall, and with an album which his fans helped to create – selecting the song compilation by sending him their favourite choices. The album is appropriately titled, Decade of Hits and will be released on September 9.
Since his breakout major label debut album, Started With A Song, was released last year, Brett Kissel has been unstoppable. Having won the 2014 JUNO Award for Breakthrough Artist Of The Year, Kissel is equally excited about leading all artists with his 8 2014 CCMA Award nominations. This summer, he’s performed for massive audiences at festivals all over the country, and was part of the nation’s biggest Canada Day celebration in Ottawa, performing for the Prime Minister and a national CBC audience. This fall, he’ll open for Brad Paisley on his Country Nation World Tour, on all Canadian stops.
Jess Moskaluke dominates the stage with her powerful vocals, country-pop style and infectious smile. In August 2014 she achieved a Gold record with her current single “Cheap Wine and Cigarettes” off her new album Light Up The Night. This award-winning songstress has recently toured Canada including performances at the Calgary Stampede, Boots and Hearts and the Big Valley Jamboree. She is currently a three-time 2014 CCMA Award nominee, including the prestigious Female Vocalist of the Year.
Platinum-selling JUNO and CCMA award-winning Canadian country group, The Road Hammers, made an explosive return to the music scene this year, with the release of their third album. Wheels, the trio’s first album in over five years, reached #1 on iTunes Country and includes the hit singles “Get On Down The Road” and “Mud”. Following a jam packed summer festival season, The Road Hammers can’t wait to return to Edmonton to bring the house down at Rexall Place. The group will also join Doc Walker and Blackjack Billy on the road this Fall, as part of the 2014 Bands On The Run Tour.
